Mary Eileen McDonnell, born on April 28, 1952, in the US, is a stage and film actress. She is best known for her role as the protagonist of Stands With A Fist in Dances with Wolves. Other important parts include the role of President Laura Roslin from Battlestar Galactica as well as the President's wife of Independence Day and Donnie's Mother from Donnie's Darko.
